The famous Buoy 10 season is less than two months away! Last season was a very short one lasting only two weeks. This year we have a season lasting over a month for kings! On one of the first days of the season last year, I boated one of the biggest kings my boat has ever seen, coming in over 30 pounds! We didn’t catch a ton of fish that day but working hard paid off for us here. Steve and his group have fished with me every August in Astoria. These are days I look forward to all year long. The first year they fished with me, they brought a whole watermelon on the boat. I’m not sure if I was just hungry, but the slices they shared with me were some of the best I’ve ever had and the only time I’ve had customers bring a whole watermelon on the boat. It was a fantastic snack! Brian, Nate, and their customers had a banner day with me last year. We were limited out before 9 am. I don’t usually tag a fish on guided trips, but this day I decided why not. It couldn’t take long to get one more… was I wrong. We fished another two hours and had countless opportunities before we decided it just wasn’t meant to be and headed for the dock.
